Dr. Jekyll’s Potion

“You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit.”

― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

Writing Prompt

Imagine you or your OC had Dr. Jekyll’s potion. Whenever you wanted, you could release your ugly, evil side and let it loose. No one would recognize you, what would you do? Remember, if you do get caught, people will know what your “Hyde” looks like. You are not invincible, and you don’t want your true identity to be found out.

Writing Tip

A person’s desires are not so easily organized into “good” and “evil.” More often, our actions are defined by how proud or ashamed we are. Consider what your character’s virtues are. What do they consider to be good? What do they want to do but don’t want to be seen doing? Is it really bad or just embarrassing? Why do they feel that way? And lastly, who are they afraid will see them?
