“Abandoning Harriet, Shelley moved with Mary to Switzerland, where they met Byron. In 1816 Harriet drowned herself in the Serpentine in Hyde Park…. In July 1822 Shelley’s sailing boat, the Don Juan, sank in a sudden storm on the Gulf of Spezia, and he drowned.”

Writing Prompt
Write a story with an ironic twist. Or perhaps not quite ironic, but a karmic fate for your protagonist. I like to imagine in the above story that Harriet became a spirit haunting the waters; any waters that Shelley might go to. Waiting for her moment to seek her revenge. Or perhaps the universe saw what Shelley did, and saw it fit to end him the way he ended Harriet. Take these ideas into consideration when you write your story today. What karma will your protagonist face and why?
Well, hello my lovely little geckos! It sure has been a while. I apologize for my surprise hiatus, but it’s but a wild few weeks! I landed my first library job, and it has been surreal. Unfortunately, my drive is about 50 minutes long and that takes a big chunk out of my day, which is why I haven’t been blogging as much. There’s so much I want to do, and often that leads to me getting overwhelmed or burnt out, but I’m working on that. But anyway, here’s an update for The Gecko: I have recorded an analysis/ review for Crimson peak that will hopefully be up soon, it’s being edited now. My next video will be another installment of “Let’s Talk Tropes.” It’s all about the monstrous feminine and I’ll be using The Descent to exemplify my point. My next big project for the website is to strength the “Writing Tips and Tricks page,” so if there’s any content you would like to see, or any questions you would like answered, feel free to send them my way!
