“In that moment, in that tiny brown space full of sweating and breathing people (we used to take this for granted), I realized I have to trust in those around me during this time of fear.”
—Jin, Quiet
As 2020 is reaching its end, we must reflect on the year. Take a moment to make a list of all the good, bad, and neutral things that happed to you this year. Pick one thing from each section, the one that means the most to you, and write about that memory. Because it may still be fresh in your mind, this writing may be painful and full of emotion. Fold it up and put it somewhere: in an envelope, bury it, hide it in a drawer, mail it to yourself, whatever. Put a date on it for when you want to open it again and remember.
BONUS: When you do open and reread this prompt, write about it again. This time, you will have processed it and dealt with it emotionally, and you may even remember it differently. Compare the two writings. Which one is stronger? Which one do you like more?
