The Spookier Path

They had reached a crossroads. To the left there were old dead trees and thorny vines. The right, however, looked as normal as a forest could look. An owl screeched somewhere down the left path, and the adventurer wondered if they were more afraid of the seemingly normal path, or the honest path regardless of how dead and terrifying it looked. The right just seemed too good to be true, so the adventurer went left. The sun seemed to go down quicker than usual, and before they knew it, they were shrouded in darkness with only a lantern to see and an old sword to fight. The problem was they weren’t much of a fighter….
