Man’s Hatred

Jared had always had anger management issues, and his desk job wasn’t helping. His mom once told him that anger was a monster that lived in his stomach. If he thought about it that way, he could imagine himself fighting the monster and winning, it helped sometimes. Other times he would just explode at strangers– usually at the grocery store. He hated the grocery store. But it was on one particularly gloomy day that everything was really annoying him. He was late on finishing a project, his boss was nagging him, his cubicle neighbor wouldn’t shut up about her wife, until finally he just exploded, and out came the monster. Literally. He could feel his shirt splitting where he hulked out of it. His teeth grew sharp and long, and horns sprouted from his skull. When he calmed down enough to see the mess he made, he ran home, leaving the screams of terrified strangers behind him….
