She liked to believe that everything happened for a reason, but when strange this started to occur, she started to question her philosophy. At first things didn’t seem so strange, a friend won the lottery or a neighbor lost a cat: normal things. But then it started to spiral out of control. The lost cat showed up days later with an army of rats, the rich friend spent all her money on crack, and storm clouds rolled across the sky for days without a drop of rain. She didn’t want to admit it, but it felt very end-of-the-world. But why now? As she scrambled for a meaning, a strange man showed up at her door asking for shelter, not wanting to turn him away, she set up a space for him in her living room. He seemed normal enough at first, but then he got to talking and he knew much more than any man should have known….
