Creating Death

“Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.”

–Emily Dickinson, Because I Could Not Stop for Death

Many people have written about Death as a hooded figure with a scythe. Sometimes he’s a skeleton, sometimes he looks like a man. Now it’s your turn to create Death. What does he/she/they look like? What do they wear? Do they carry a weapon? Or are they more like Charon who takes people to Hades on the river Styx? When you’re finished creating them, write a short story about how they take the dead and where they go.
