If you’ve never seen Steven Universe, the main premise is that Steven is the son of a human and a crystal gem– a crystal gem being a sort of alien person with magical gem powers… how else can I explain that? But anyway, the gem people can fuse to become other gem people with several consciousnesses working together. Write a story where two sentient beings have to be “fused” together. This can be two corporeal human beings, it can be a human and a demon, a human and sentient animal, sentient animal and alien, whatever you can think of. However, the catch is that they want nothing to do with one another and their stuck. Their goal is to separate.
