I’m going to try something new here on The Garrulous Gecko. I’ve been creating a lot of content for the sake of audience (ya’know writing prompts, advice, and writing resources), but I feel it’s important to include my own voice too. You can check out my published work at Queen Mob’s Tea House, The Love Story Creatives, and soon THAT magazine, but something we don’t often get to see from artists is their creative process, so I will be posting my poetry, along with other works, in different stages of their lives. I will call this segment on my blog “Raw.” Genie was written only a few days ago, the only change I made was to take out a few short stanzas that only made the poem clunky and awkward, but it has not yet gone through my meticulous editing process.
