“Librarians are hideous creatures of unimaginable power. And even if you could imagine their power, it would be illegal. It is absolutely illegal to even try to picture what such a being would be like.”
–Joseph Fink, Welcome to Night Vale
Make a list of ordinary things and for each thing write a sentence that makes it absurd. For example, your thing might be “couch,” and you might write, “the couch had been abandoned in the old apartment building. Blood and rips collected like dust on its arms. It ate anyone who dared sit on it.” If one of your sentences sparks some inspiration, try writing a story, or just make up some more bizarre lore about it.
